Audio Upgrades

Has anyone upgraded their GP sound system or added any aftermarket head units?
Whats the opinion of the stock fitted system?
Is it easy to intergrate the blue&me and the controls on the steering wheel?
Im asking this because i want to fit a motorised head unit with a satnav but dont know if it will be more of a down grade!!??!!!

    Sound system is fine by its self :thumb:
    Pretty sure if you take out the head unit then the B+M will stop working (could be wrong though)

    Not being able to re-intergrate the B&M into another system has certainly been discussed elsewhere in the B&M section. As the UK cars all get the upgraded sound system as standard its a pretty good system from the dealer.

    Wait until you've heard it before buying a new head unit. As John said... It's fine. The sounds is goos even at loud volume. I'm sure your dealer will let you whack a CD/memory stick in and turn it up nice and loud to hear it.

    IMO the best upgrade you can make to the sound system is to get rid of those damn Pirelli P Zero Nero tyres.

    Fit Goodyear Asymmetric F1s. Significantly less road roar and much better grip than the Pirellis, especially in the wet.

    Apart from that the system is pretty good.

    I've got a Garmin Nuvi positioned to the right of the dash near the side window. Works fine and is tucked away, yet fully visible. A better position that the dash-mounted unit.

    Standard speakers are crap. Steering wheel controls are easy to keep this is just done by a wiring adapter that Connects 2 sell. You cannot keep B&M with an after market HU but if you are getting one that has sat nav then it will most likely have bluetooth connectivity aswell. Ive got upgrade front components which are amped and then a sub for a bit of bass and its heads and shoulders above the standard system :)

    The speakers certainly aren't bad. Maybe they aren't amazing. But they are good enough for more then the majority or people i would say.

    There are 2 Hifi Upgrades. 1 adds just the sub to the package and the other is a 4x60w amp which is still pretty bad!

    Hi matt,
    What upgrade components have you got? I assume they are not from abarth!?! I always seem to spend fortunes on upgrading my speakers for hardly any difference!

    NB you need to live with the hifi upgrade to appreciate it, you will always do better with specialist components but its good enough that you don't have to instantly chuck money at it.

    EVERY car I have had has been to Team Turners in Sunderland (mates rates!) and has had Competition standard sound upgrades done, panel remoulds, the lot!! (even my elise did!) Im talking retail prices of £1k for 2 speakers! (not that I paid that lol!) The AGP is the car iv'e been most impressed with above any iv'e had before. While its obviously not as good as iv'e had they are easily good enough to not spend any money on upgrading in my opinion.

    Now there is a good opinion form someone who obviously spends a lot of money on changing bits of his car :thumb:
    Spend a bit of time with the car before you decide to do anything, you may decide it doesn't need it.

    I have JL audio VR 6.5" comps in mine which are powered by a JL E2150 amp. These are the only speakers that need upgrading really as the rear speakers are just used to rear fill and dont add that much to the system.
