Chunky Monkey is quite right, the clutch does go back into stock if it is not used. That is the only part of the kit that you are not charged for. If your car needed the clutch upgrade, it would take Chunky another 2 hours to upgrade the car, but the additional cost does not get passed onto you.
The parts that come back to you, will only fit an Abarth. The stud spacings are different on the wheels, they wont go onto a Fiat G.P.
The idea of the dealers fitting the kits is not about trying to get more money out of you, it is about sticking to the tradition of Karl Abarth modifing cars with skilled mechanics. I am not going to tell you how much we make out of selling and fitting the kits, but it is very, very little.

    ...coffee table.

Yeah just like that. Maybe you should get some abarth mug coasters with the Esseesse kit.

If you had an esse esse kit fitted from new couldnt fiat or the dealers parts department buy the old parts back off you to put into stock. Or maybe you could have an abarth forum parts bin so that when someone damages a wheel or has a crash  you can all sell parts to each other.

the parts bin is a great idea.

the dealer buying back from you, IMO, wouldnt work. there would be such a minefield to navigate with parts being classed as second hand, not under parts warranty etc.

it may work if fiat bought them back and classed them as reconditioned though i guess. i doubt its something they would ever entertain mind.

we kinda questioned the logic behind it when in italy, especially the fact that youd have to bring a luton with you to take home your parts, and we were simply told the customer owns those parts, it is part of their car whether fitted or not.

if it was me i would probably only ask for the handling kit box back, however i can see a few of the turbo's/manifolds and backboxes finding their way onto e-bay pretty soon, i would imagine they would be a useful source of spares for an abarth/t-jet enthusiast, plus im not sure what else the IMI turbo is used on outside the fiat range.

We cant buy the parts back into stock because they have been fitted to the car and therefore classed as used parts. If you decide not to drag your 2 large crates home with you and leave with us, we cannot re-sell those parts because we do not own them. We then have to damage those parts beyond repair and scrap them  :'(. A forum used parts section would be a great idea.

Quite happy to set something up once people start having kits fitted.

I wouldn't mind a spare wheel or two for instance.  And brake discs will always find a home.
