GPA and CDA BMC
« on: November 21, 2009, 02:51:45 am »
Hi,

i saw a video in youtube of GPA esseesse, i think the video was in Frankfurt car saloon, and that GPA esseesse had a BMC CDA...here in my country the GPA esseesse comes with a "normal" BMC air filter, so i would like to know if they come with CDA BMC in the UK or if it only happens in Italy or so...

Trust me, you don't need it...

the point of CDA is in keeping the sucked-up air relatively cold. Colder air = more dense. More dense = more xplosive mixture. Turbo on our cars does the same (well, better) trick = it compresses the air so it's more dense. Theoretically adding a CDA would help improve that even better, but since the air travels trough heated up charger after it's been taken form outside, I really see no sense. Two turbo specialists I talked to have confirmed my amateurish "discoveries" :)

Take a peek under some highly tuned exotics with turbo chargers - in majority of cases you will not see the CAI kits...

    LpF

he's stronger (more torque prolly) at low rpm, and stronger too at higher rpm. Seems to have less turbo lag too, and he got a lot quicker.

Yeh, it's a pain in the ass to find. Even more so when your trying to order something with everything Italian. Never again now i've discovered google translate

I don't have one myself. Chimino is the man in the know on this.

Remember..... I'm pretty sure it will only fit LHD cars unless you fancy doing some fabrication to make it fit.  Trouble is RHD cars get the brake reservoir where the CDA filter should go.

You could always remove the brake stuff if you want but I prefer being able to stop rather than a loud noise

Ah thats a bit of a pain in the arse, yeh it says on the ebay item that it is for LHD cars.
I do prefer to be able to stop but unfortunately that makes a loud noise too as in loud squeek lol

no idea... didn't go to the dyno after the CDA...but i think that the increase in torque is more noticeable than the increase in hp.

there's a nice trick in ebay...go to that page, and then change to the ebay.co.uk page :P

Just tried that and it didn't work. Turns it in to £'s but most of it is still in Italian :thumbd: Back to google translate for me.
