Bonalume Short Shift

I finally got around to having the Bonalume short shift lever fitted to my GPA. This is the full shift lever replacement not the bolt on extension. (Don't bother with the jokes, it's too obvious).

Anyway, instead of the 1 hour the dealer estimated to fit it, it actually took 2½ hours as the exhaust had to be removed. I was only charged the quoted price though so I'm not complaining.

The shift travel is now a bit shorter, if slightly notchier in 1st and second. Definitely an improvement on standard. Doves do not now appear as I wave the magic wand.

Worth it? For the cost of the part (€170) plus quoted labour, probably yes, but at the full 2½ hours labour, probably no.

I took the opportunity to get rid of that damn awful standard leather gear knob which I replaced with a black and leather Momo item, though some may view this mod as tacky.

    Yes, that's the one.

Autoworld always look after me and do a good job on the car. I've mentioned before that I always ask for Nick to do the work. He's enthusiastic, good at his job and enjoys taking the car for a 'gentle' test afterwards. He rates the exhaust sound.
