Greetings. Does Grande Punto Abarth support aftermarket HID XENON lights? Will I lose the warranty of the electrics if I install them. If anyone knoes anything, please help. Thanks.

i know the Xenon lights are good but dont you feel the GP's lights are fantastic anyway? every other car/van i drive are a hell of a lot worse (volvo s40 - oldershape, vauxhall zafira and a renault traffic van)

infact i may opt out of this lights discussion! i still have painful fingers and a bruised head from trying to change a main bulb on the traffic van yesturday - such a STUPID design!!... anyway lol

Back on topic, My last car before the Abarth was a Bravo 150 MJ sporting with the Xenon upgrade and they were fantastic.

i know it goes off topic a bit but with you saying about your renault traffic, did you see it on fifth gear about changing a bulb on a megane. Its a big job and can range from £150 to £300 depending on garage, i think you even have to remove the wheel... How stupid is that!!!

off topic - yes i did and it was rediculas lol... as for the traffic is nearly as bad i even snapped the bloody catch off holding the bulb in place trying t get it to bloody realise!

back on topic - yes i do understand there very good but the GP's standard lights are fantastic for standard lights. as for fitting zenons i honestly cant see it doing any damage to the car at all... lets be serious here if my standard bulb goes and i get a replacement from the shop up the road that sells them but its a different brand but same fitting its going to work fine... zenons are brighter but its the bulb that makes it brighter right??? not the wiring?

I think the lights are pathetic. Glow worms have tried to mate with them.

I'll try upgraded bulbs first.

hang on 1 sec mate... you have altured the angle on the menu (the menu to the right of the steering colum) i think it needs to be set to 3???  - its either 3 or 0, do this when its dark or against a wall so you can see the lights moving up and down... move them right up and the lights are really good! - this has croped up on the FF before ages ago some cars seem to come with the lights set pointing more down (if im right thats 0).

Yes I have done this. Just to clarify, the dipped aren't too bad. Not good though. It's the mains that are rubbish and badly affected by dirt. Headlamp washers should be compulsory nowadays.

And, off topic, the reversing light is worse than useless.

If the cheap aftermarket xenons decide to force too much current through the wiring loom it may well melt the loom causing shorts. At that point it is really expensive to change the wiring loom.
