I had a customer come in to me about two months ago who had fitted a HID kit to his 100hp Panda, long and short of it was he had melted the headlamp lens and wanted it fixed under warranty but it wasn't covered so he had to pick up a large ish bill himself. :-\

I must admit i am a fan of HID lamps and it would be nice to see them as standard on the GPA but if I was lucky enough to have one myself I wouldn't want to fit an aftermarket kit as my first choice tbh.

There is the saftey issue to think about factory fit HID have sensors on the suspention to monitor/adjust the angle/height of the beam so you do not blind oncoming traffic and certain traffic police may not be to friendly towards them either.

    Just some food for thought.

I suppose the warranty didn't cover only his headlamp. I mean, the warranty still covers the rest of the electrics such as rear lights, interior lights windows, car computer, dashboard, etc., right?

It all depends what the fault is. If it can traced back to the HID causing the fault then it wont be covered. If a coil spring was to break you may still have half a chance ;D

    i have them set at 3 :)

i understand they're not everyones cup of tea. But they make such a huge difference and imo make driving much safer on country roads. If it was an option or there was one made for the GP that didn't look tacky i would buy it. Even now. But there isn't  :(
