Horn replacement?
« on: June 01, 2012, 12:06:06 am »
As I'm sure you guys are aware, the standard horn SUCKS. I'm pretty sure the noise of someone coughing would drown out my 'horn'.

Has anyone had it replaced? If so, what horn did you get fitted and how easy are they to swap over? Is it a DIY job or is it a pay a garage £20 to have it done job (or more?). Any recommendations or anything would be appreciated!

Cheers peeps :thumb:

Someone on the forum has fitted one of these

It is a DIY job, but you have to take the undertray off and work in quite a tight space.

Just had a quicky browse - are the Stebel Nautilus horns still available to buy?

All I could find was things like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Motorcycle-12v-volt-Nautilus-Compact-Loud-Air-Horn-Twin-Tone-Like-Stebel-NEW-/230701667807?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35b6e415df

I recommend to you the Punto GT twin horn. I've installed it in my Grande Punto Abarth Esseesse.

I fitted a Dixie horn to my other car, in addition to the cars own horn, fairly attracts the attention, makes a lot of folks laugh too.

if you go for air horns of any type, make sure you get the ones made by the Italian company fisa. as these are the loudest.

Whoever is interested how the Grande Punto Abarth is with the 2-tone horn, here's a video of it:
