Misfire on start up, no warning lights
« on: July 10, 2016, 08:11:07 am »
Hi guys,

Had my AGPSS sorted with new suspension & wheels, rebuilt gearbox, all new brakes, etc, etc, and has been running & driving sweet for months now but in the last couple of weeks she's developed a misfire on cold start that's got me scratching my head.

It's only for a few seconds on start and sounds like it's a cylinder or two down, but then clears itself and runs fine after that. No lights on the dash and nothing being picked up when I plug my OBD reader in. I changed all 4 spark plugs as a precaution but still the same. I have also noticed a slight metallic 'tap' or rattle from the engine on cold start too, seems to coincide with the misfire so I'm wondering if the two things are linked?

Any thoughts or ideas chaps?

Thanks :)

Could be fuel injector misfuelling the cylinder. I had similar issue and since using injector cleaner added to tank at next fuel fill up , have had no problems.
