What springs??
« on: June 16, 2009, 10:05:51 pm »

Hi

I want to upgrade the springs on my AGP and have previous good experience with Eibach springs.  Has anyone fitted these yet and if so did you fit the Pro-Kit springs or the Sportline springs?

I would like to go a bit lower without dragging on the floor!!  I know the Sportline's are lower than the Pro-Kit but are they too low and likely to cause any tyre rubbing?  The figures given for how low these springs drop the car are based against a standard GP, but the AGP is lower than a T-Jet which is lower than 'standard' models.......all very confusing.  If they quote a 30mm drop what does this equate to for an AGP??

Any help much appreciated......thanks  :thumb:

The AGP is 10mm lower than the standard sporting and the Assetto kit is 20mm lower than the standard AGP (30mm in total from Fiat G.P).
Add some brakes and wheels to that and you've got an Assetto kit :thumb:

I believe Mick has fitted Eibach sportlines to his. He said it now sits 10mm lower then the SS. Looks great as well :thumb: I'm sure he will give you feedback when he spots this.

Interesting I thought that the SS (or Assetto) sat 10mm lower than the standard AGP and that's how I based my car sitting 10mm lower than the SS.

However, if the SS sits 20mm lower than standard, then the Eibachs will give the same lowering as the SS. My car sits fairly level compared to both the SS and standard AGPs so I wonder if the kits drop the car evenly at both ends.

I'm using ProLine and imo these give a slightly better ride than the SS springs though you'd need to compare these back to back to make a valid judgment.

I wouldn't want to drop it any lower than the ProLines for everyday use and if you're going to use the performance on rough roads definitely stick with the ProLines. SportLines are more for show anyway.

Then get yourself some decent tyres (Goodyear F1 Assymetrics) and you're better set up than with the Assetto kit.

Sportlines offer a bigger drop compared to the Pro Kit which has a smaller drop but is more focused on handling.

All places are the same price really. Might be a 4 week wait on them aswell but that depends if Eibach uk have them on back order from eibach germany. www.potn.com are a good place to buy from.

These are the ones you want :)

Has anyone had any experiences of coilover kits? I have found a couple, one KW system and an FK system and was wondering whether to go for these rather than a change of springs.
