A few more figures
Torque is the same, 184 ft/lbs, on both but the Evo is produced at lower rpm. 2250 against 2500.

0 to 62mph
Evo  7.9s
Mito  7.5s

I made a mistake with the Mito emissions, instead of 139 should be 136g/km

Even cleaner and faster but £1400 more

I guess the cynical may suggest that it would be harder to upsell an SS kit which only gave an extra 10bhp (170->180), and placing the standard engine at 165bhp may bring more sales of the kit.

I think it's going to be a hard sell in any case, particularly as: a) it adds not only less power than the old GPA kit, but also less power than the 500's esseesse kit and would have to be priced accordingly; and b) no-one's going to want to replace those 'Scorpion' alloy wheels.  Points I have made to the Powers That Be™.

I know the looks and the issues Alex is eluding to above are issues but i did find one photo in the press release file that i thought was probablly from the best angle in relation to the looks and the red does look very good i have some photo's of a white one and it doesn't look as good, but that is my opinion only.

    So here is the picture

I'l admit that in profile, and red it doesn't look bad - it's the fussy front and rear that I need to be convinced by... but hopefully a ticket for the Goodwood Moving Motor Show will help that

Just noticed that they've move the rear flank badging further down the 1/4 panel and away from the window too.

Some of the frontal area could no doubt be wrapped/sprayed to hide some of the goppiness.  Sure, you shouldn't have to.  Here's a quick mock-up I did:-

In case anyone really wants to look at 50 photos of the same red car repeatedly driving round the same corner, I've uploaded the remaining press photos to Flickr:

Why oh why do they use that awful chrome affect round the badge. It really annoys me. Chrome on the 500 is fine but not on the AGP or APE. No to Chrome or any other sort of BLING.

And the front and back bumpers really need wrapping/spraying fast (like Alex did above). Looks very cheap otherwise IMO.

The rest of it I love though apart from the price of course.

Just watched 5th Gear the Alfa Mito Cloverleaf 170bhp MutiAir up against the Citroen DS3 and Mr Nedell comented that he fet the MA ran out of breath and the fact was that it was slower around the track than the DS i trust that the Abarth Evo mapping will be better if that is the case!

To be honest no I just can't get round the round off the car from the side view it is growing on me but that front is just a mess, think I will wait for the coupe if it comes

The grey is cheap because they only blow a gloss coat over the primer(would I lie?).

Flat white and flat red cost options? Who could possibly argue that is ridiculous?

That now brings the price for a white/leather/12v car to £17778 compared to the £14350 I paid 20 months ago. It gets worse. No servicing plan either?

According to Autocar, as well as a new coupe, Abarth are releasing the Evo in 'SS' trim in November for around £19000.
Have they got it wrong or will the Evo be available in 2 flavours from the factory?
