Facelifted Abarth?
« on: July 06, 2009, 05:09:32 pm »
Found this on fiatforum.com http://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto/200523-grande-punto-series-2-closes.html

If this is true I suspect theres going to be an updated Abarth GP otherwise the old car will be seen as playing catch up with the facelifted GP, not exactly what you want if your trying to command a premium over the standard GP.

I was going to order mine in October but I may just hold back now...

If the Fiat G.P. is getting a face lift then the Abarth will get it as well.
It may not be a radical change though so dont be put off buying one now to find out that they have just moved the Aircon button ;D
I'm just messing about that but Fiat facelifts have been very minor in the past. Look at the difference between S1 and S2 Abarth G.P.
Virtually no difference apart from the flashy indicators and the rounded key.

I heard a little rumour that the GPA may get a new 1.8 litre unit. I would like to say it is only a rumour!

Nothing is impossible but nothing in the Fiat range has a 1.8 petrol engine at the moment.

No but there is a 230bhp 1.8 engine in another very Italian sister company.

There are some pics online and it looks like quite a major change to the inside and minor cosmetics to the exterior.

Apparently to have LED lights at the back as well.

Quite a bit seems to be changed on it looking at the pics. Makes the current interior look quite bland tbh.

hope they dont ruin the clean lines... look at what Fiat did when they revised the last Punto.. OMG, worst facelift ever!

Whats the phrase.. if it aint broke..... Certainly the interior looks much better... :thumb:

Making it not quite so obvious would be a good start, perhaps by removing the "Sport Boost" from it and making it a little more discrete, we are not all boy racers ;-)

Personal opinion really. I prefered the facelift hence why i had one before my GP.
