Cold start

Last winter my cold start on the car didn't seem to work at anything below 3 degrees so it went to my dealer who had it for 3 days n said it was fine but the next morning for me it didn't work and didn't start working until temperatures got better. Now this winter it's doin exactly the same am just wondering if any other people have this or if I should take it to a different dealer.

It only seems to not work the very first time I start the car after that it works fine.

    cold start??? i just start it and leave it for a few mins first if that what you mean? im probably doing something wrong.

    Yeah from cold when you start the car it should idle at about 1400rpm for a short period mine doesn't at cold temps just sits at 800rpm

    Mine was working fine.....even down as low as -10.

    My one wouldnt start other day had to get aa out. the engine was flooded.

    we had -14 here when it got really bad .... mine started up first time no problem....

    This may not of been the case Danrae but a warning is still worth while. :wave:
    The T-jet engine has an issue where if you start the car and only let it run for a minute or so then turn it off it will soot the plugs and it wont start again.
    This happens often when a transport driver who doesn't know will take the car off the transporter and turn it off straight away. They are a bugger to get going after that.
    Same symptoms as flooding.

    Mine starts fine never had that problem. It's just when I start it up it just idles at 800rpm not 1400rpm which should for a few from cold.

    never really paid attention to revs on start up I can hear a change in the exhaust though (I can hear it on start up then silence again once its heated up).

    It did get as cold as -19 up here and started no problems

    Mis-reading temperature sensor? ECU not working correctly. I'm sure your dealer will have checked all possibilities thoroughly.  ;D

    The A500 runs very low RPM at idle on a cold day, i thought this was normal? 900 RPM usually.

    Mine idles cold at 800rpm as well checked this morning.
