Lethal, that is, when you drive another car after driving a AGP for a few weeks and you use the brakes for the first time. What's happened to the brakes? But of course they're fine by most standards, just nothing like the instant response and power you get with the AGP.
My wife's Fiesta has been in the bodyshop for a couple of days after someone kindly drove into the side while she was sitting inside. No-one was hurt, just missing paint.
She said the Ford Ka she has been loaned was quite the little rollerskate so I thought I'd have a drive. I agreed until I tried the brakes. Light years behind the AGP but actually better than my previous Barchetta. I never had any confidence in those. When I complained about the sponginess to the dealer I was told that while they were not good they were adequate. I paid to have the fluid changed and bled at 5k miles when I had an intermediate oil change, but they were stilll lacking. I always used to give them a quick pump, just to make sure.
Mind you, the downside of the AGP brakes is going to be the result of someone driving too close when you have to stand on the brakes in anger. I almost got a car up the jacksie the other week when a car/caravan changed lanes with no warning. In the Barchetta, I would have hit it, no question. The guy behind obviously thought he'd got plenty of distance between us and looked shocked when he realised it was marginal.
