The 'main' insurance companies are all at the £630ish mark. Although I do have points. I never use companies like them though. Specialists all the way  ;D. Just have to find one!

hmmm... not doing so well on this car!!
iv'e had some really high quotes from the specialists.
so far my best is £539 with Adrian Flux, 3rd party on any car, unlimited milage, protected ncb etc.... BUT no trackday cover!! :o
I can get that on a 'pay as you go' format tho so its not too bad.

Hmmm not heard good things about AF when it comes to claims.

Try Richard Eggar.  Specialist insurer, does trackday cover etc.  Insure my modified Exige through them and seem to have a good reputation, certainly in the Lotus world.

I found that the 'specialists' were more expensive than some online companies which is why I went with elephant.co.uk for the GPA.

I've been insured with specialists in the past and they offered no real advantages over mainstream, unless you're dealing with 'classic' cars or some exotica.

elephant.co.uk  -  i used them for my grande punto mjet as i said and i payed £650 then... weird really does engine size affect the quote??? thats the only logical thing i can think off for it to drop nearly 150 quid and the group insurence to go up from GI 6 to GI13/14 (cant remember which for standard abarth)

Have you asked how much the SS kit would put it up? If it's engine size maybe you will be a happy chap  :P Surely it would go up though! BHP should play a big factor in it. They probably have no idea what they are talking about. Mine dropped also from my 1.9 mjet. I'm with Bell.
