Title: Intermittant power steering failure

Occasionally  my power steering just isn't there when I fire up the car,switching off the ignition and restarting brings it back,,,,,whats wrong and how's it fixed??????? TIA

When you first start up, leave it a few seconds for the pump to pressurise the system. All should be ok.

Mine did it once, it's electric assistance and the car had done a lot of short runs with the lights, heater etc on and the battery was a bit low and I was told the voltage needs to be spot on or it can cut out.  Been fine ever since (hopefully)

How old are you (that car that is  ;D)  sounds like you need a new battery!

To rule it out, check that your steering fluid level is up to the mark.
