Does it still have a CAT on it?

I know of at least one AGP SS that has passed its MOT with flying colours. I'd remove the box for it though.

yeh i still have the cat on,
i have looked on dlva site and the abarth range of cars are not on there
plus the 155 has a 159 co2, so the esseesse must have more but the limit for the G rate cars is 165 co2

Turn sport mode off :thumb:

Mine's going in later this month and I have the same mods so we shall soon see.

According to the Elaboration certificate the Esseesse has an identical CO2 level as the standard car.

If you're worried take a copy of your certificate with you - that should confuse them enough to just pass it :thumb:

If they cant find the exact car they have to do a pre cat test for emissions.
It will pass the normal agp emission anyway with Tmc exhaust and tuning box. Mine did anyway. I got it check after fitting them both.

It's all the suspension I'd be more concerned with. Although I have got a few tips on how to get it through all these if they do find play in anything and it is excessive. Mots are just visual checks so if for instance they can't see where the play is coming from they can't fail it. e.g covered up with something. :thumb:

Get the car MOT'd at an Abarth dealer  ::)

you'll need the brake fluid changing as well, might as well let Abarth do it at same time :thumb:

Only if you trust your dealer.

I didn't in the slightest. Everytime I took it in they couldn't find anything. I had to tell them what was up with it just for them to find it. (or point it out to them)

Also all emissions machine if updated will have the same cars/ data on them and if I remember correct it just comes under Abarth t jet.

Change the brake fluid, why change it every service I have, plus I don't trust my Abarth dealer at the best of times, the brake to me would have to be changed if you was doing track days and hard driving

Get the car MOT'd at an Abarth dealer  ::)

Seems to me to be the totally blindingly obvious answer.

oops, my brain is bad today, you don't need brake fluid, sorry

i'd still take it to Abarth for the MOT though :thumb:

If it fails then the dealer will know about it, I want  a outsider has I think I have a problem with my Suspension but the dealer say I don't, I have creaking sound on the back they said it was the rear seat so I took them out, still there over little dumps at slow speed

Anyone know how much Petch's charge for an MOT?  They sent me an e-mail today saying I was due but there wasn't a price quoted.

i do, but i want the suspension fixing, but my dealer says there is nothing wrong with it, for expample; the water hose coming off your turbo, well mine p*sses water out of that and all over my engine and in the bonnet, DEALER says " that is normal sir if you want us to change it, it will not be under warrenty" and that was hes words ill takwe some photo's so you can see want the dealer says is normal

my dealer p*sses me off big time and its only 10 miles away

Brake fluid every 2 years and its changed because it absorbs water and becomes less efficent, worth getting done, doesn't cost alot either.
Emissions is the same as stated above, dont worry, if you just remove the TMC box.

There do seem to be a number of garages who have gone a little over the top with the new guidelines..

This was posted up on another forum I visit; it's a bit silly really :thumbd:

Best remove your under trays and engine covers then

Got my MOT on the 22nd my engine cover is already off that wont be on my advisory.

If I had them on my advisory I'd just laugh at the person.

I reckon if mine fails it will be something to do with the suspension mounts or something similar.

Something serious wrong there looks like the pressure is building then something gives way.
If my car did that every time I drove it I would be getting it sorted and I wouldn't drive it incase of overheating and causing more damage.
That is not right and should be sorted out under warranty the engine bay is a mess and looks like it has also burnt into the fabric lining the bonnet.

Must cost a fortune in topping up.

I've not seen an AGP engine bay look like that before.

Not right.

But hoses aren't on 3rd year warranty.
Title: Re: MOT Esseesse Help!!!!!!!!
Post by: azbo87 on March 10, 2012, 02:15:35 am
Got to say though it's the fact they said it was normal that was the concern they should say they can see the problem but it's not covered under 3rd year warranty etc as it is a hose and then ask do you want us to repair it? then give a price.

I'm sure any of the blokes on here who work for dealerships would do just that it just worries me that a main Abarth dealership can say that is normal then say they would charge to take a look at it.

Sorry to say this does sounds similar to my dealings with their service department  :'(

Ive also tried the Stafford branch for minor warranty stuff and they were fine.

Not sure where your based but also consider Research Nuneaton they sorted some of my niggles without any fuss  ;)

I'm based in stoke on Trent and work in Trentham,

When the guy told me the 1st time it went for service, I took it down and showed him, I us to go every week and he said that was normal, so I said if that is p*ssing my coolant out when I run out my engine will over heat and the pistons and bores will be f**ked, then how does it go,

The answer i got was "well wait till then!"

I was so close to putting him on he's ass

If your dealer isn't going to do anything, then at least do yourself a favour and replace all the naff FIAT hose clips with good jubilee ones. I've had a similar problem with coolant leakage but all I did was replace the clip and everything has been fine since. You can do it yourself as most of the FIAT clips will be loose anyway I found.
