Remap
« on: March 26, 2016, 10:45:49 am »
Has anyone had their AGP remapped? If so is it any good, I've booked my car in next month at Celtic tuning in Cornwall, they actually come to you. They seem a really good company and the remap carries a 14 money back garauntee and a 12 month warranty so all good. They quote £295 and will take the power to 187bhp and 201 ftlb of torque. Does this make a difference just on sport boost or on both settings? How much extra strain on the clutch with more torque, just want to know people's opinions. I don't want to fit a TMC box as that's generic and a remap is tailored to your car.

I had the same remap as you, same company and same figures, i had the remap removed the following day as the car was misfiring and threw up an EML!

On the alfaowner site Celtic tuning have a bad reputation.

If it is the base model AGP there is no chance you'll get 187 bhp as it has the IHI turbo I believe. Around 170 bhp is more plausible.

I got my AGP (with IHI turbo) up to 189 bhp and 222 lb.ft /301Nm so it is possible but wouldn't go any higher before replacing the turbo with either garrett gt1446 or TD04 . I only run super unleaded (98 ron) which does make a big difference. I was also advised to take off the cone filter and replaced it with a panel filter since the turbo would only be sucking in hot engine bay air (less power then) so the colder you can get that air the better. Car is also running turbo back exhaust with 200 cell cat (no silencers) BMC pop of air filter, BMC panel filter (plenty of turbo noises) and stuck to the road with Biltein B14 coilover which are amazing.

normal drives the car always does random pops/bangs and you can hear the turbo spooling too  ;D
