SS Kit, a few questions
« on: May 02, 2009, 06:26:09 pm »
Hi Guys,

I'm serously thinking off upgrading my agp to SS just wondered if a couple off you guys that have had it done could answer some questions please.

Performance wise are there many diffrerences ie 0-60 and mid range

What kind off money I could roughly get for the parts taken off ie wheels, brakes turbo and the rest

Thanks

Old Boy's probably the best one to answer these, but I reckon you should be able to get an easy £1,600+ for the take-off parts.

Some people will tell you the turbo is available for £600-ish new.  That is an exchange price for a recon unit - to gain that pricing, you would already need to have an Abarth turbo unit to provide in exchange.  Without an identical exchange unit, the cost is around £1,400 for a new unit.  Since anyone buying an Abarth turbo to fit to their standard Fiat won't have an identical unit to exchange, they will have to pay the full £1,400 to buy a new one.

Standard Abarth wheels are an eye-watering £400 each including the tyres.

How much did you get for your take-off parts in the end?

Thanks for the info, I was pretty set on getting it done untill I took one out on Monday, and pretty sure I'm not going to get it done now for the following reasons: arnold clark wand £4500 grand, it did'nt actually feel any quicker then my np agp to be honest sounded a bit nicer exhuast wise but personally its not what I expected so I will be keeping it normal.
However I do really like the white wheels might have get something like them i guess

Apparently the poor exchange rate has pushed the price up, more like they wanted to make 500 quid as i did'nt buy the car from them. I would never ever let them do it anyway personally I could'nt trust them not to fook it up lol

Just in case anyone else is considering it, the price at the moment should be £3,915 as a result of the VAT cut.  However, I know there is a price increase in the pipeline, but as far as I'm aware it hasn't been applied yet.
