turbo problem?
« on: August 22, 2011, 11:01:09 pm »
Dunno if anyone has experienced this but i was driving home tonight put my foot down in 3rd going up a slight incline and the car felt like it was misfiring and splurting. It happened a week or so ago but thought it was just some dirt in the fuel line ???

I've noticed Carmen doing something similar recently, but it only seems to happen under light load and around 3000 rpm...

Let me know if you get to the bottom of it!

I've had this problem with mine for the past month or so :thumbd:
Been checked out and nothing is showing as a fault so the garage i use recommended me changing spark plugs & possibly the Coil pack.
Plugs are going to be done on thursday to see if its just that simple.

my AGP 155 has an intermittent issue where the power just suddenly dies, then comes back to life again... sometimes it will cause the sensors to read boost issues and put the EML light on...

be interesting to hear about the spark plugs..

    So far mine has had:
    New Boost/MAP Sensors
    Turbo Unit + Actuator
    ECU.

In again on tuesday to find the next step... it is coming up to needing a service tho (25,500 miles - serving due at 32K? ) - last serviced at 14K.

Does your EML come on at time of fault. Spark plugs/coil packs will cause a random cylinder misfire and cause a hunting sensation through the car. Easy check is to pull the plugs if no EML active at time.

I don't get an EML come on so hoping its just the plugs etc.
Feels like i have a load of random flatspots from 3k and above. Sometimes just complete loss of power for a second or 2 then fine again.

Just thinking outside the box... have u tired it without the TMC box on?

on mine its more noticeable when I was running the TMC box... (higher boost etc)

Yeah tried both, its obviously not as noticable but definitely still there :thumbd:
Ran it for 1 week without TMC on to make sure it was not that causing it.

sounds very similar to my issue :-(

Only other mod I have the car is a flexi-back exhaust system, so ill get that checked out too.. maybe pressure or something but doubt it...

So far dealer cannot fault the car, neither can Abarth/Fiat Techs...

Keep me posted about the plugs!

Oh- and as for my EML lights - mine were (tho, it now doesn't seem to be looking this all the time):
    P0236 - Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

    P0106 - Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem

    had mine sorted yesterday:)
changed the plugs and all is now well (apart from 1 very slight loss of power on my travels today) but luckily its ok.
Apparently the plugs that were in there were only finger tight....2 were not even that.

Hope you guys get yours sorted.
