Turned out not to ne the turbo but only the dump valve, im guessing it must have jammed open and just letting the pressure escape.

    Mine was only half-boosting this morning, following replacement of the little boost control valve (that clips to the radiator), after the original (Pierburg) one failed. I noticed the 2-pin connector had fallen off! Fitted it back on, should do the trick, hopefully...
