I have a (more or less) standard AGP with the IHI turbo. I recently bought a complete engine, ECU and gearbox from an Esseesse version, with the Garrett turbo from a crash-damaged car for a good price.

I was wondering if there is any difference in the actual engine itself, or is it just the injectors and turbo, (i.e., bolt-on stuff) that are different?

I am contemplating whether to just swap the upgrade bits onto the existing engine (which has now covered 115,000 miles), or go the whole hog and swap in the Esseesse engine & box complete (which has covered about 70,000 miles). Not sure which is the most effective way of going about it; for instance, is it possible to remove the injectors without having to disturb the air-con gubbins, etc.

Engine in the car is currently running well with 115,000 miles on the clock. Spare engine has reportedly only done 66,000 miles, but I've not heard it running; I was thinking of temporarily swapping the ECU to verify the mileage.

The gearbox in my car is showing some signs of wear, with the infamous gearstick moving about an inch when you accelerate in first gear, though it's fine otherwise...
