Abarth 124 Spider / Re: What to check before warranty expires?

As you say check the Monza exhaust as it should be changed if the valve is stuck.  Drivers seat bolster (RHS) is prone to wear as you get in and out of the car.  These are the two issues I have had so far in 8000 miles.

Hi Dave,
Yes the Esseesse comes with the Garrett 1446 turbo as standard.

Abarth 124 Spider / What to check before warranty expires?
« Last post by Stu111R on April 12, 2021, 08:15:12 pm »
Hi all
We have bought an Abarth Spider that has a few months of the manufacturer’s warranty remaining and would appreciate any advice on what we should be looking for to get fixed now?

Is the exhaust covered? The valve is stuck in the open position

Any other areas that are known weak spots?

Look forward to your replies

Abarth 500 / Testing the water
« Last post by L1ARR on April 12, 2021, 11:13:13 am »
Am currently contemplating selling my wife's 595 Comp. We have owned it for 2 years and it's been a run around car. The reason I went for this is a combination of factors, colour and spec as its very unique and a real head turner.

It has the optional £3k Performance pack which includes a LSD, Sabelt buckets with Carbon Fibre backs, hidden antenna and billet allu oil cap and petrol cap.

On top of this the car is in stunning Rosso Red, Monza Exhaust, Xenon lights, Beats stereo fitted from the factory. When purchased the car had the following already fitted, lowered H&R springs, Stage 1 map (220hp) and wheel spacers.

When we bought the car it only had 4500 miles on the clock car has now only just covered 7500 miles from new, it's a 66 plate registered in June 2016 (facelift version). We are the second owner and in our ownership it's been throughly maintained, Mot'd and serviced by a combination of Main dealer and Abarth Specialist. The car has a  private Abarth number plate which I might sell with the car. The paint and wheels are immaculate with no dents / Scratches. Red calipers and Paint have been machine polished and ceramic coated with a combination of Geyon and Carpro products. I am a little ott with our cars and love pampering them.

If anyone would like to know more please feel free to get in touch.

Thanks

Can I assume that an Esseesse already has a Garrett turbo?
Thanks,
Dave.

As  Matt_dab said, I think the only important criteria is "is it for drums or discs." The IM axles version is apparently stronger with more metal for the tin worms to eat so whichever version you go for give it a good coating of Dinitrol or similar and hopefully it will not re-occur. Just remember every spring to jetwash it underneath then respray the anti rust treatment. No affiliation but here :- https://www.dinitroldirect.com

Abarth 500 / Re: Brake pads for the Brembo 4-piston calipers
« Last post by jl-c on April 11, 2021, 09:31:07 am »
Hi, on other cars I have tried both of those pads in I have found these results. Brembo are less effective when cold and will need a good shove at first, when warm, excellent. Ferodo are again less efficient when cold but needed more warming up and though excellent wore the discs quicker. Now that may be the discs I was using ( also Brembo ) but that is what I found. Not very helpful I know but personally I would stick to the Brembo for road use.
