Abarth 500 / Abarth Series 4 165 Turismo - Tuning
« Last post by ajdwoolley on May 05, 2021, 03:21:01 pm »
Afternoon Guys & Girls,

This is my first post as new to the world of Abarth... Bloody loving it though!

Just out of interest, could someone give me a rough estimate on potentially gains from a stage 1 remap with no mods.

And what mods would be required with a stage 2? and potential gains?

Car is the 165 Turismo, with the Garrett turbo just FYI.

Help will be much appreciated!!

Abarth 500 / Red stripe replacement
« Last post by Abarth 595 Competizione on May 05, 2021, 10:15:26 am »
Hi.

I want to replace my red stripe on the side and change it to the yellow one. I'm in Staffs, does anyone know how much these are and where I can go to get it done please?

I just dont trust myself with this job because it's too visible for all to see if I mess it up.

PS I'm taking the opportunity to do this whilst all 4 of my callipers are being re-manufactured at Big Red, and I'll have them finished in the yellow powder coat, so perfecrt timing really.

Thanks in advance.

I would remove the Bluespark and take it back to the Abarth dealer as there appears to be an intermittent boost problem.

But a word with Bluespark may not go amiss.  :thumb:

Welcome Farky77

Your problem could be caused by numerous faults.

Are you over revving to the limiter?
Engine in limp mode because of fault codes in ecu for example.
Turbo waste gate faulty

Do you have a scan tool to monitor any fault codes?

Maybe a trip to an Abarth dealer is required.

Thanks for the reply mate
Been on a reader with no Fault Codes.
Have the new 3 channel Bluespark on the Car, the issue was there prior to it however slightly different. Before the Box was put on, i noticed/felt the boost fluctuating in 4th or 5th gear when under full load/boost, didnt do it all the time tho and could reach max revs no problem.
After the Box was fitted, it now holds back, retards the revs after 4-4.5k rpm amd struggles to Rev out? Accelerates hard in lower gears, easily nearing rev range. Only holds back revs, boost fluctuates when driven hard in mostly 4th & 5th gear.
Hope tht all makes sense

Abarth 500 / 595 Comp Boost fluctuating
« Last post by Farky77 on May 04, 2021, 12:09:17 pm »
Hello all!
Recently joined your great Forum, hoping some of you knowledgeable people will be able to assist with my problem!
I have a 2019 Competizione, recently ive noticed while accelerating hard in 4th or 5th gear, the boost builds fine but as the revs start to rise the boost fluctuates, like the revs are retarding/holding back!
Checked all vacuum lines etc and there doesnt appear to be any leaks.
Is it probable tht its the Boost solenoid?
Car is a 2019 with 13k on the clock, freshly serviced with new Plugs too.
Really dont have the time to take it to an Abarth dealership as i know its still under warranty but thought i’d ask you guys on here

Abarth Grande Punto / Re: Alfa Romeo Mito electronic dampers
« Last post by 124Abarthreplica on May 03, 2021, 04:05:15 pm »
Unfortunately there are very few Abarth Grande Puntos about so answers maybe few and far between. :thumbd:

I'll try to answer your questions.

The Grande Punto and Mito share the same chassis with the Vauxhall Corsa of the same years.
I would imagine the 170 Mito dampers would fit the GPA but as to the DNA adjustable bit working on the GPA ???
I seem to remember when the 170 Mito came out it was just the rear dampers that were DNA adjustable.

The chassis including suspension on the A500 is Panda based and is different to the Fiat/Vauxhall chassis so parts will probably not interchange.
Even the wheel specs are different, 500 are 4x98, GPA/Mito are 4x100

Abarth Grande Punto / Re: esseesse kit alternatives / options

Hi,
Bit of a late reply, but I have a standard AGP with the IHI turbo (albeit remapped and centre box deleted to bring it quite close to Esseesse power at 179bhp), and have bought a complete AGP Esseesse engine, gearbox, Garret turbo and ECU to hopefully drop in it one day...

Of course, I gather the Esseesse also has other mods such as uprated brakes, suspension, etc.
