I would just disconnect the battery and make sure you have your steering lock on as long as it’s the full wheel steering lock thay carnt get them off so will not look at your car twice I disconnect my battery and put steering lock on every nite alarms can be more hassle then there worth most times

Immobiliser is always activated independant from key or remote.

Look in the fusediagram in the handbook IIRC fuse 16 is for the fuelsystem. Won't ever start without it.

Abarth Punto Evo / ECU stolen
« Last post by pacosnest on April 11, 2024, 12:06:41 pm »
Hi
I recently bought a vandalised Punto Abarth 2011. They stole the ECU weirdly!

One guy who knew all about them told me i needed to buy an ECU with body module control box, barrel, key etc.

Someone else told me i can get a virginised ECU off ebay and it will work.

Anyone know if buying a virginised ECU will work? if so do you know who offers this service so i can buy one and send it to them?

Any help would be appreciated

thanks

Abarth 500 / Temporary security fix

Hi all

I'm having a bit of an issue my car security. I have a 2022 595c. It has an alarm fitted that has just decided to intermittently start activating (annoying the neighbours). I have been in contact with the place that fitted it and they are going to take a look at it and make some adjustments. Problem is, they can't fit me in until a couple of weeks time. Also I'm going away over the weekend for a couple of days and don't want it to sound/annoy while I'm gone.

So was thinking can I just central lock the car with the key in the door lock and this will arm the immobiliser, or do I need to use the key fob (which will arm the annoying alarm)?
Also is there a fuse I could pull as a temporary measure to stop the car from starting/being driven off?

I also have manual security (steering wheel lock etc).

Many thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have received an email from the dealer to say my car should be built by the end of this month. They think delivery will be late June early July which seems a long time but I guess they hold produced cars at the factory until the can make up a full load or suchlike. Then they have to reach the UK and and deliver to the dealer.
