Abarth 500 / Re: Michelin pilot sport All Season 4
« Last post by GTMartin on April 04, 2021, 07:44:37 am »
I had All season tyres on my Fiat 500 and whilst the cars are not the same, the outcomes may be similar. The all season tyres worked well in all situations, when it was wet the car tended less to be effected by standing water. In the snow they were very good, but not up to the standard of a dedicated winter tyre. I felt as if the all seasons were a 'heavier' tyre on the car. The car did not seem to accelerate or steer as well. I think the fuel consumption also suffered. The changes were only very subtle but were there. If that is a compromise that does not bother you them go for it. Swapping wheel sets around is not a chore, storing them for me is ;D. On our Abarth the diamond cut summer tyres do not see any salt and are perfect. Our winter set look quite sorry.
I hope this helps.

Hi, are you saying that you can retrofit apple CarPlay to your unit with that adapter? Or you mean the adapter is to get it wireless?

Abarth 500 / Drive Shaft Quandry
« Last post by jl-c on April 03, 2021, 07:55:26 pm »
Hi, my drivers side drive shaft has failed big time. I have found a couple on Ebay but they state manual gearbox. My Abarth is auto ( at least remote controlled manual ! ) can anyone tell me if the driveshafts are the same? Mine is 2011, I assume they are unchanged 2008 to 2013 ?? It is so hard to get sensible information on these cars. Thank you.

Hi everyone! New around here, I did this on a 2017 500e with an Abarth salvaged stereo from europe! Removed 5 inch and replaced with the Uconnect 7 NAV HD, only problem is I can not upgrade/replace the maps, and of course I have the Abarth splash screen, anyone know how can I get any Uconnect or maps updates and possibly modify splash screen??

There were ones on eBay recently which were moulded. Still pricey but cheaper than Fiat one.

Abarth 500 / Lowest Seat Set Up?
« Last post by Martin_M on April 02, 2021, 09:00:23 pm »
Hi folks,

Just taken delivery of my other half’s 595 comp. I quite fancy another for me but I would be looking to mount a race seat directly onto the floor and add an extension to the steering wheel. Is there anyone active on here who has done this? I’d love to sit in a car (when restrictions ease and it’s safe to do so) which has had one or both of these mods to see how it feels. I’m 6 foot 3 and based in Glasgow.

Thanks,

Martin

Abarth 500 / Michelin pilot sport All Season 4
« Last post by asr1143 on April 02, 2021, 03:22:22 pm »
Hi, I live in Munich and the winters are long and cold and snows for few weeks every winter, I have two sets of tires Pirelli sottozero 3 for the winter and Michelin pilot sport 3 for the summer, I don’t track and I’m getting tired of change wheels every 6 months specially now that the Michelin are nearly gone on depth, 2,5mm left, so I was thinking to buy 4 Michelin pilot sport all season 4, will it be a good decision? Are they good for wet and dry? Anybody had experience with those tires?

Not a problem, the cost for the mods are below, however as my brother is a mechanic I didn’t have to pay labour. Although most of the items were pretty much bolt on so someone with a bit of mechanical knowledge could do it.

Forge Induction Kit = £220 plus VAT
Forge silicone intake = £82.99 plus VAT
Forge Turbo Blanket = £65.99 plus VAT
TMC 200 sports cat = £349.00 plus VAT
Forge BOV = £172.99 plus VAT
Forge Actuator = £116.99 plus VAT
Remap from Tune4Performance = £250 plus VAT

Total = £1257.96
