Title: 595 Turismo or Competizion - Help please
Post by: Ciderman on February 18, 2021, 10:16:05 pm
Hi all, I am new to the forum and am about to put a deposit down on a new 595. This will be my first Abarth!
I have driven a 145 and decided that I want one of the quicker models.. to that end and after much research I have managed to come up with my top 2 choices - Turismo or Competizione - now I understand the difference in these 2 in regards specs/ what they come with etc. However what I don’t know is what the difference is when u get behind the wheel and due to COVID I can’t test drive them so will be ordering this car blind so to speak. The advice I have had leans me towards to Turismo even though I do like the idea of Comp and what it comes with ,Monza exhaust etc. I am told that the Turismo provides 90% of the excitement of the comp but is a better daily driver due to the fact that it’s a bit more comfortable (I’m in my 40s

Hi, I bought a two year old Trofeo over a Competizione, wanted the Monza exhaust, more comfortable seats and bit more than the 145bhp, very pleased with my purchase.

Meant to say a decent dealership should let you drive a used model or two on your own if you take in sufficient ID, Sytner let me test drive my Trofeo for 30 minutes on my own during lockdown in December.

I've been looking at the Trofeo myself, prefer the Cloth seats over the Turismo leather seats and also the 7 inch screen and Monza exhaust. Can get some good lower mile models for cheaper as well. I'm kinda toying with the Trofeo and Competizione and there is a few thousand pounds difference. Are you happy with the Trofeo performance/experience? The sabelt seats, extra performance and Garrett turbo are tempting me but I've been looking at a remapped Trofeo so that covers that aspect a little bit.

Not sure about the Teofeo but the Turismo has the same Garrett turbo as the Competizione- difference is that the Comp is just tuned for higher output. Like you I’m wondering how fast the 165bhp Abarth’s feel when driving

My advice would be don't buy anything blind, always test drive first, very expensive mistake if you get it wrong, even the seats standard/sabelt divide opinions.

I came from a standard abarth to a turismo and found a big difference in performance. I wanted more power but didn't want to lose to much comfort.

Thanks for the comments guys! I have now managed to get behind the wheel again of a standard 145 and the seats were good for me, I’m over 40 years old and not exactly what you would call small in terms of size. Therefore I am thinking that the Turismo seats will suit me well - am I correct in saying that the only difference between the 145 seats and That of the Turismo is leather? That just leaves performance which sounds like that extra 20bhp really makes a difference
