Abarth is for life not just for Xmas
« on: October 13, 2009, 06:51:35 pm »
Hi Everyone
Thought I'd say hello as I have been reading and absorbing all the info on the forum for a while now. I currently have my sparkly new Campovolo grey 500A on order and am going insane with the wait! I fell in love with the 500 Abarth after seeing it appear on TopGear a while back.

The hubby and I popped into research garage for a test drive on the way back from work a few months ago and absolutely loved it! Popped into Rockingham a while later later and put a deposit down on a grey one they had in stock. Unfortunately couldn't sort out finance in time and had to let it go though.  :'( (I believe that ElizAbarth now owns it!)  Sorted our finances out and finally ordered 7th Sept from Rockingham: Compovolo Grey, petal wheels, red leather interior and red assetto corse stripes. Am using my old banger on the scrappage deal so am hoping it turns up soon as my tax and mot run out end of this month.
Can't Wait!

Hiya - welcome to the forum.

Did they give you some idea about how long you would expect to wait for your car? I ordered about the same time (actually possibly the same day) and was told 12 weeks.

    Hi Paula

The dealer told me to expect it to be 12 weeks but that they hoped it would be more like 10 weeks. I was also told it was set for production week 41 but haven't heard anything since. What about you?

I was told a similar thing about the wait. I haven't really heard anything since - I did have to phone a couple of times to get a copy of my order form when I realised that all I had been given was a recipt for the deposit (I think it was just a getting it posted problem). But I haven't really chased it. Week 41 would have been last week wouldn't it? I guess I ought to phone them up and ask - but I figure that it won't make it any quicker!

Yes week 41 was last week, you never know maybe the factory will have a few espresso's and get building. Looking at the other thread yours and mine may be boat buddys.  :) Will let you know if I get any updates from the dealer. Does anyone know how long it takes to get built before they load it on the ship? I know i'm so impatient  ::)

I ordered mine, exact same spec 1st sept and it wont be ready for me until the middle of Nov, so you might need to get your tax and mot.  :thumbd:
