Thanks Skelly

I am sure (or at least I hope) I will change my mind if I ever get the car.   I don't want to say too much at the moment other than that Steve in Edinburgh has been absolutely fantastic through all this.

We picked up the Abarth this afternoon after a delay of a few days.

It bucketed with rain all the way home and pitch dark too.

At the moment all I want to do is trade it in for something else but that might change. :'( :'( :'(

Get a pic up when you get the chance.

I know you're annoyed after the delay but you'll love it, I promise!

If you're free on Sunday you could join us on a wee run to Oban to get better acquainted with it  :)

It's virtually the same as yours, Hoops.

Electric sun roof, climate control, 17" petals, black leather seats with red stitching, blue and me.

I know.   My husband likes it even although the weather was horrendous.   Have to admit that going through the flooding there was no aquaplaning and it was rock solid.

I doubt we will be at the meeting.   Are you going to Oban via Rannoch Moor or down the bottom road?   I presume it will be the bottom road past Lochawe.   If you were going Rannoch Moor and coming down past Glencoe I might wave to you on the way past the door though.

For the record though, Steve Callan in Edinburgh has been absolutely exceptional in his dealings with us right from the very start.

Thanks.   I just was so desperate to fall in love with it.   I thought when I saw it on the forecourt that I would and didn't and then I thought when we were driving it that I would, and didn't and even when I drove it myself I only drove it for half a mile and pulled into the nearest layby for G to take over again.

We are going to Inverness tomorrow and I want to go in the Jag.

Thanks Jax.   I replied to your PM.

Decided overnight that I am just going to love the car for what it is so I drove it down to the Co-op (wow).

Only a very short distance but I loved driving it and even in the short time it was parked while I dashed in for a couple of rolls (which I didn't actually need) quite a lot of people stopped and looked at it.   Whether they were looking and laughing or looking at admiring I don't know though.   :thumb: ;D

Now I need to get in touch with the DVLA on Monday because I had my own personal plate on retention for a year and because I didn't think I was going to be changing the car for a while I put it on for another couple of years and sent the documentation back over a week ago and haven't had the retention document back.   I would be devastated to lose the plate though (I did send the form back recorded delivery so they can't say they didn't get it, along with the cheque).   Not only is it special to me, it will actually be quite special to the car too.   So the car has to be called *ABBY.   Or *4BBY.   Didn't actually realise how well the plate would work until a couple of days ago. :thumb:

    Your car looks lovely.
I'm not sure I entirely follow what has happened to make you change from getting out the test drive with a huge grin, to then not gelling with the car at delivery & deciding to just love it for what it is...   ???  But hopefully the fact that you have begun making those pointless journeys to the shop for things you didn't really need is a sign that hopefully you are getting on with it now.

Delays are a pain, whatever the reason... You gear yourself up emotionally for the big day, only to be deflated & have to pick yourself up again for another day.  All in all though, your 6 day wait from placing the order has been a small one compared to many one here... so look at the positives, and enjoy the car  :thumb:
