Another newbie
« on: November 12, 2008, 07:42:46 pm »
Hi, I'm Peter and have just joined the forum.

I was brought up with Fiats but saw lots of rust and everything used to fall off them within a couple of years. But I still have good memories. However, I probably wouldn't have considered a 500 if it had still been built in Italy. I guess it was the thoughts of a brand new factory in Poland making cars to a decent modern standard that encouraged me to look at the mark a little closer.

My wife's car is a 3 year old Mini Cooper that needs replacement and what better than a lovely little 500 Abarth! She likes the Fiat line but I wanted something a little more sporty, so the Abarth is a good compromise. Even better with the esseesse kit and she won't notice the performance in normal driving.... unless the reported harder suspension shakes her fillings out!

Anyway, waiting for the nice guys from Vospers to give me a ring to convert our deposit into an order.
Vroom.... vroom

At this moment, only S2000 is built at the Abarth factory, the G.P.A. and the 500 come out of the same factory as the doner car. Melfi in Italy for he G.P. and Tichy in Poland for the 500.
In the future, bespoke Abarth model will be built at the factory in Turin.
