Heard nothing but good things, took a second test drive on Wednesday just to make sure and my gut reaction hasn't changed. It was triple stamped after a last minute decision to take the s3 sedan out ended in me getting to the audi garage 15 mins late due to traffic and they had taken the car back as "we thought you weren't coming", no call or anything.  I've specced the car but it's going to be a 10 week wait which will kill me. I've got 2 garages who are going to have to fight it out on deals, research seem to be the best pick so far with the deposit contribution but I'll give bradford a chance to match it.

Spec will be:
Record grey
Black alloys
Yellow callipers
Upgraded stereo
Standard cloth sabelts

Can't wait. TMC box once it has run in a bit.

Just about to take the final plunge tomorrow morning. Out of interest what kinds of deals are getting thrown around on the 180 comp?

The best negotiation I have had so far is:

1250 deposit contribution on top of my 1k down, then 268 a month over 4 years at 8k miles a year, final payment of 8k. The interscope stereo and yellow calipers thrown in for free....

Compare favourably to anyone who has already purchased one or is this about the norm?

    Cheers!

I picked mine up for 207 a month over 4 years, I did put down a big deposit though (5k). I was offered things like paint protection and smart insurance(insures against stratches and small dents/marks). I haggled with the dealer and paid for the smart insurance for a year on the condition he threw in the paint protection.

    I think I got a pretty good deal  ;D

My car was discounted substantially by about £1500 after I spec'd Grey Leather Sabelts, Interscope, Black Metallic paint and Yellow calipers. Basically got the Leather Sabelts and yellow calipers for nothing. Also managed to get my negative equity cleared and paying just over £300 per month, very happy with the deal I got considering my situation with the current car with a 1k deposit from myself.   :thumb:

Research offered me the best deal.  I bought the standard car with black side stripes total cost £20160 for £17890 on the road. So I am pretty pleased and personally preferred a red car .

I probably got such a good deal as I was prepared to accept a stock car with a 15 plate

With nil deposit I pay £249 per month over 4 years with 9k final payment. Mileage 5K, to keep the monthly payments down. I may do more than that per year but excess mileage charges only become an issue if you return the car and walk away.

In my opinion any deposit you put down although it does does decrease your monthly payments you will never get it back.I would rather keep the money for other things.

Mezza you are always better putting a deposit down as it means you mah pay a substantial amount less due to a less amount of money to e financed and apr added.

Agreed, the figures above equate to paying over £20k with APR.

You will end up paying more for the car with less deposit as you owe more on finance!

Over the years I have had a number of PCPs which have always suited me, and on different terms, nil, small and large deposits, and I agree you will always pay more with a small or nil deposit.

But in my experience and in my opinion if the Apr is very low under 6% or better still even lower the amount of additional interest paid is not that significant on small deposits such as 1k or 2k but it is more noticeable on a large deposit such as 5K.

It all boils down to what available  cash you have and what other things you wish to do and what income you expect to earn/ receive in the future which could offset any increased total loan costs.

The beauty of the PCP it can be tailored to anybody's personal circumstances. My arrangement suits me. In my experience once the deposit is paid  it is unlikely you will retrieve  much or any of it when you trade the car in in 2, 3 or 4 years time.  Vat and depreciation will see to that.

My advice is get several PCP quotes with  different levels of deposit over the same period  with the same Apr , compare the total costs  and take the one which suits you best, but consider how you see yourself financially in 3 to 4 years time.

Think a deposit saves you money if you buy the car at the end of your PCP deal as you will overall pay less for the car over 4 years obviously.

£1000 deposit with APR of 6.3 as is on these Abarths.

I pay nearly £280 less for the car. Not a great deal over 4 years but still better off in your pocket than the finance I say. companies.

    Buy one I'm coming from a 420 bhp A45

    Spec was near the same
    Record grey
    Yellow brakes
    Stereo
    Black wheels
Natural sabalt leather or brown if your from Yorkshire

309 a month 200 quid deposit...I don't do large deposits as I always terminate finance halfway, not even driven it yet, but not doing so excites me lol

It's cheap it's fun and it looks good being 44 and 6ft nothing would suit me bar this lol

Brian 1612 - You could also argue that you parted with £1000 now out of your own pocket  to save £6 a month over the next 4 years.
