I'm really gonna have to go and test drive the ss, had a passenger ride with immortal and it was good but not worth 4 grand (not even 3.5 grand) but that might change when I test drive it.

dont forget its a completly different experiance between driving and passenger.... im sure the handling is a dam sight better and the brakes a lot sharper. - plus dont forger there was 4 of us in the car.

my favourite spec, black with the graphite wheels.

i suspect if youre used to a cupra sport youll be going for the esseesse!

cant you strap the dog to the roof or something though, i cant picture an abarth interior with dog slobber on it!  :)

I know what you mean but have gotten used to it now. The dog is relatively well behaved in the car :)

    Hello all,

I am Adam and will hopefully be ordering an Abarth Grande Punto tomorrow.

Found the site recently and it seems to be full of good info and good people.

Look forward to many more posts.

    Cheers :)

Well, unfortunately yesterdays test drive and negotiations did not go as well as planned.  Maybe something will change this week :(

I drove both the esseesse and the normal version and oddly much preferred the normal car.  The esseesse had a very strange power delivery, very laggy IMO and not as quick as I thought it would be....

Also, the valuation of my car was MILES off what I felt it should be so if I was to get an abarth I would have to look into a private sale.  So could be a while yet.

I'm sure you might get a call today following it up with a better offer, get a valuation off whatcar.com that will give you an idea also if your deadly serious pay for the glass or parkers to value your car on there site, they are generally what the industry go by.

Is there another dealer within reasonable distance? ring them and see what they can offer thats what i did and i got the deal i want.

Its only an exta 25hp, but its where it delivers it that matters (5700 rpm) - you neeed to keep the revs quite high to ecsape the lag as with any turbo. I've always found the turbo to be great above 3krpm to be honest.

i own an NP and had a passenger ride in an SS, i know, not ideal BUT, there is certainly a big difference above 5k rev's - i dont know if you tryed this out but its really noticable! - even as a passenger.
