Actually you aren't alone in thinking that Ben, Honest John and a couple of the mags have said the same and I know the chap who did the press photos and works for Auto Italia reckons the standard A500 is the better car as well.

Unfortunately the recession/pants PX prices made the decision to have it fitted straight off for me :(

Looking forward to Kevin saying Rockingham's demo is up and running though ;D

That damn dave_r lives near to me, i used to be quite a lonely Abarth (almost, just a few weeks left) owner! If i see his car before mine arrives, i'll go mad!! I am still yet to see one in real life, other than at the dealership.

Hmmm...maybe I'm getting old, but I think I prefer the standard A500! (I  can hear the gasps of astonishment!)

Maybe it's just my personal experience with the same car before and after, but it just doesn't seem to feel as stable. Seems to roll a bit more in the corners too which is the exact opposite of what you would expect. Probably just me tho!

Apart from that it's awesome. The frantic acceleration is great and you can really suprise a few people who think it's just a little black 500 with fancy wheels! Brakes are good too, although it does induce the hazard light flashes on a more regular basis!!  ;D

Overall i'd honestly say it's one of the most fun cars I've ever driven.

Interesting that it seems to roll more...

How is the ride affected by the kit? I intend to test the esseesse when my dealer has one of his 500s fitted with it.
Have you got any pictures of the car? I've yet to see a black esseesse!

    Cheers  :thumb:

Like I said, it's probably just me. I haven't taken it on the same road as before the kit was fitted yet. I think that may be the test for it!

It is a harder ride though (borderline uncomfortable for my tastes), but then you wouldn't be buying it for comfort!

Everything else about it I love. The power, the brakes, the noise and the suprised look on peoples faces when they disappear into the background! I'd be inclined to have the kit but keep the standard springs.

I'll get some pics for you soon.

Ben- welcome from one forum newbee to another.

I have found your views on the A500 Esseesse very interesting. I pick my A500 up in a couple of weeks and have been given the option (funds allowing) to have the SS kit fitted before delivery. Now I am somewhat confusued as what to do ??? Is it noticeble quicker and louder?

Having heard both today I personally couldn't tell any difference in noise from the cars themselves but there is a distinct difference with who's behind the loud pedal :)

I don't think there is any difference in the noise it makes after the Esseesse kit is fitted, but then I had a customer the other day who thought it was louder??

Obviously there are no additions or changes to the exhaust system with the SS, but sometimes airfilters can make a bit of a difference to the noise.

The proof is in the pudding (as they say), so you'll have to have a look at a dealer thats got both and see what you think!  :)

Welcome, for me it's always strange to see a sales person on a forum like this.
It's in my nature not to trust sales people, they just wanna sell sell sell and sell some more.  ;D
But it's nothing personal, your colleges have given great support so warm welcome to you anyway! :)

Funnily enough I get that a lot! People never trust a sales person, but you have to remember that they're only human! You'll usually be able to tell if someone's not being straight with you when you talk to them.
In a way it's handy to have dealers on here because if you think you're being fed a line, you can check with us and we'll give you an honest answer. Might not always be what you want to hear though!!  :)
We're all just petrol-heads really, but as sales people we're lucky enough to take home a free 500 Esseesse every night!  ;D
