Hello from Cape Town, South Africa
« on: June 09, 2021, 12:20:17 pm »
Hi all,

New Abarth owner here all the way from South Africa.

Recently I pulled the trigger and sold my F30 BMW and purchased a 2014 Abarth 500c Competizione with only 18000km (around 11100mi if my brain math is correct).
I have had it for about a month and really enjoy driving the little roller skate around.

We have a Fiat 500 1.2 that I have been using on and off and enjoyed it so much, I just had to get one but, with a little more anger and attitude.

So along came this little red monster.

I am not planning a lot of mods but, there are some that I want to look into.
The first mod I made was the BOV mod (because my inner child wants my car to sneeze ).

I have also been thinking of a downpipe and tune.
The mods I want to do needs to be done in such a way that it will be an easy change back to stock if I need to. The more stock it looks, the better.

To do list:
-Intake - I really like the look of the stock airbox but, I also want some turbo flutter (Again my inner child)
-Checking that the internal wastegate actuator arm is at the correct length (I did hear that some are set more on a conservative side)
-Tune (I get uneasy when my car is being modified by someone else and have no contacts who I can trust that can do this on Abarth).
-Downpipe - Not worried much about this as long as I do not get a check engine light. It is not a VW  ;). But at least we are allowed to rip out the CAT without any roadworthy issues in South Africa.

Any other worth while mods that can be suggested without messing with the stock look?

Cheers,
RuanS

We had also a 500C 1.2 before and after 11 years with it we decided for a 595C Turismo.
    Have fun with your car!
A595C Turismo, TecnoMagnesio Scorpion white in 7.5x17ET35 with 225/35R17 tires, Ulter premium V2, full LED conversion, double dome lampe of Giulia.
