Hello - New Owner :-)
« on: February 10, 2016, 07:18:34 pm »
Hi,

Just thought I would say hello, introduce myself.

I picked up my 500 esseesse a few weeks ago, been reading this forum for weeks though and getting up to speed on upgrades, issues etc; really good forum!

I had to sell up my Aston V8 Vantage Prodive edition for a new house purchase and always fancied an Abarth, really iconic, everyone loves them, no better car for the money in my opinion. the Aston was an amazing car with the Prodrive upgrades, sounded like thunder when on full chat and the bangs/pops on the overrun were just immense.

Prior to the Aston, I owned a Focus RS Mk2 with the REVO4+ upgrade (425bhp), was nuts! Managed to crack all 5 ringlands so ended up forging the engine and putting in a helix organic clutch, what a car that was and I highly reccomend them if anyone was to upgrade from the 500, they are brutal with the REVO upgrade in 4th, 5th and 6th, not many cars that can keep up with them.

I love my Abarth, already put in the GTT induction and Magneti Marelli Bombardone exhaust which sounds incredible, not a million miles from my old RS with the burble and pops/crackles but best of all no drone on the motorway.

I just added the TMC ECM, cranked this up to setting 8 and it's a lot of fun, struggles now for traction in 1st and 2nd with a nice pull in 3rd. I feel the turbo is running out of puff though in the higher gears (boost), not that surprised to be honest based on these small IHI units but more than happy for the moment.

I'm a bit of a carbon addict, had the splitter, diffuser and mirrors on the Aston (which cost about half the price of my 500) and also had tons of carbon on the RS. I'm planning to add various bits on the 500 over time as it really looks good against the white paint in my opinion.

Anyhow, if you see me around Middlesex, give me a wave (already had a nice fella peep/wave the other day from his Abarth, very cool).

Here's a few pics of the 500 and my previous Aston with RS; plenty of car nuts on here so enjoy!

Cheers
