Hi there
« on: September 27, 2011, 10:48:46 pm »
We took delivery of our 6 month old 500 yesterday and I must say I am not disappointed. I have wanted an Abarth from the first moment I saw the pics but it just never happened. Anyway, long story short, my other half was buying a Mito and went to the archways of Bauer Milletts in Manchester to see what was on offer. It was here that Abarth devotee (and salesman) David managed to get her out for a test-drive. She came back with a massive grin talking about the way the car handled and the growl from the exhaust. Needless to say, Mitos were a distant memory and the deal was done shortly after. Incidentally, top marks to Bauer Millets and David in particular. His enthusiasm for the marque is infectious and he succeeded in convincing my wife that an Abarth was the way to go in 5 minutes when I have failed over the past couple of years! As for the car..just awesome. My usual drive is an RX8 so a FWD turbo charged pocket rocket is quite a contrast but it blew me away. Reminded me very much of the tuned minis I learnt to drive in 20 odd years ago...just brilliant, but then you all know this already. Looking forward to being part of the community and any meets etc. in the North West.

    Welcome :thumb:

I am fairly new to the entire Abarth business (only picking it up this week).

Forum is a great place to find out about details, how to improve etc.

RX8 is a nice motor by the way!

Ha - yet another case where the test drive just makes the deal an inevitable outcome! I am sure you won't regret it!.... just be careful, as I believe Bauer might have some other temptations that could prove irrestible, too..... just ask SJH about that!

    Welcome to the forum.

    Welcome
Now that I'm a grown up I drive a sensible grey 595 Competizione with grey leather sabelt seats and yellow brake calipers. It's jolly nice! It's got a name - ' Razzogrigio' Now with a custom S/S group N style exhaust, black Esseesse wheels and a GTT induction kit, all sitting on Eibach springs.
