...I currently compete in mountain biking competitions...

What kind of MTB racing do you do? XC, enduro's, DH or something else? What kind of bike(s) do you have? I'm a very keen mountain biker too although I don't participate in competitions that much. My current bike is an Ibis Mojo SL.

    Hi All

I am Terence from Luxembourg. I am an Australian originally and have been living her for 2 years and a bit. Have lived many places in the last 10 years.

    I still own 5
fiats or bits of them including the Abarth.

    I am 37. Company manager.

Used to be the secretary of the Fiat Club of NSW Australia 10 years ago before I left overseas for work

Stable of cars I own (scattered between Lux and Oz)

Fiat 124 spider  (Dad crashed it.!! In bits awaiting my return!)
    Fiat 127's * 2 Motorkhana cars
    Abarth 500
Fiat Stilo Schumacher (no 1934) bought new in Singapore now lives in Oz. My dad is into Fiats and he was born in 1934 so I cannot sell this car. It is the only Stilo in Australia.

    Cheers!

We've now got a new Abarth user in our family.  Samantha Jones was born Sunday night.  She came home from the hospital Monday in our BMW but will be having her first trip in the Abarth this week.   ;D

Cute as a button. Congratulations :thumb:

    Hi Portti,

I only started getting into mountain biking last year after doing a duathlon with a mountain biking friend (I ran, he biked). I had not ridden a bike for 20 years (honest!) and he managed to import me a limited edition KTM/Magura test bike. I updated the XT pods and rear mech to XTR and did an initial 23 mile bike ride (castle bike ride). I came quite well placed given it was my first attempt. I then moved onto the 100 mile South Down Way endurance! I got through it but it was flipping hard work (13 hours in the saddle!).

I then started training for the 80 mile South Downs Way night endurance event and managed to break two ribs in two places messing around jumping (or not!) off a wall on the bike. I rested for a week ( ;D) and then managed light training. I did the ride but was well below par!

I am currently training for the June 27th South Downs Way endurance event (spinning 3 days a week, biking one day, weights twice a week) and will be a lot sharper, unless I break something else. ::)

I have just managed to get a wickedly priced Pinarello Paris (my friend again) so will also be doing quite a bit of road work in preparation for the events this year.

    richbrowne:

So you are a pretty enthusiastic racer already. That's nice. I don't do much racind and I usually participate in only one endurance race each year. For me the main point is just enjoying the riding and that's why I have a full suspension bike with 140 mm travel on both ends. That's a nice tool for trailriding around here.

Yeah, that's good travel for the suspension. I will likely spec/build my next MTB; am toying with the idea of a titanium framed hard tail but am concerned it may be a little harsh, even though the frame acts as suspension.
