N500 JAA is back...
« on: February 15, 2020, 06:37:42 pm »
Greetings from Dublin. Little Joes Abarth is back.
Bought it last November off ebay, 5am start to fly in to Newcastle, and we drove it straight to the ferry, 180miles + another 100miles to home. We had about 20 miles with no conversation in Scotland, when the trip indicator said zero miles and we couldnt find a filling station...but we finally found petrol near the ferry port.
.

The car seems to have had a colourful history with Joe, now that I've joined the site I can search, but maybe I shouldn't....To be fair, despite what I imagine hasn't been a particularly easy life so far, with 91k on the clock, its a lot more solid than I expected.

There was a problem when bought, which I've ignored until now, a strange vibration that sometimes shakes the whole car, but it comes and goes. Seems to happen most if accelerating "briskly", and then disappears when cruising, its now in the with the mechanic, to have whatever the issue is rectified.

All cleaned up now and registerered over here in Ireland.

Looking forward to some decent weather to get the sunroof open.
Anyone on here know what the spec of the car is / was ?
It has a BMC filter,  suspension seems more compliant than standard, but I got no insights into the car from the seller, so am in the dark on this one, so all help appreciated.
Cheers for now
Pat

Hi and welcome. Good to see that Joe's car has resurfaced. Joe and his car were active members on this forum and many of the events at the time. He has something like 380 pages of posts that you might like to wade through. I think the car had uprated suspension but it was returned to std when he sold it.
