New member near Bishops Stortford

Ciao all!

I'm looking to purchase an Abarth 500 or 595 and am on here looking for advice.
A new baby means my partner gets my new M135i (she MUST have 5 doors apparently) and I need something fun for my commute (60 miles a day) that isn't her diesel mini.

What should I go for? A new one with warranty, brake down etc or a lightly used one that's a bit cheaper and that I can get checked over by a specialist?

Also if anyone is selling an ideal example in March 2015 then I may be interested.

I look forward to getting to know you better

They do hold there value fairly well so either is a good option. If you like the idea of a new which I myself would prefer, make sure you get the monza exhaust option fitted, the car sounds like a ferarri with it fitted and I love the grey colours in the Abarth, would suggest them with lighter grey decals and mirrors or black, looks brilliant!

    Hello and welcome!

I went for new, should be picking it up in the next couple of weeks.   ;D

I really don't get the whole 5 door thing!  I have a 2 year old, and even when she was a baby, I found it easier strapping her in with 3 doors.  Slightly trickier getting the baby seat in the car, but it's so much easier to do up the straps when you stand directly in front in the foot well, rather than having to try and reach over the seat at a funny angle from the side.

    Welcome ;D

I'd go for new, but thats just me, if you're paying cash, then "preloved" may be better. If on finance, new may be cheaper.

My 62 reg (currently) 14500 mile Legends Blue A500 (White stripes, mirrors and white 17" Petals) gets traded in to Glyn Hopkin at St Albans on 1st March. Don't know what they'll be asking when they sell it on, but you'd get a warranty, I would have thought.

In fact, it may be worth ringing round the dealers to see whats coming in with the registration change.

(I getting another blue one, with 5 spoke 17"s and fixed sunroof and it'll be a 15 plate, there's an eight to twelve week lead time)

Thank you all for the friendly welcome.

It seems the general consensus is new with the monza. I'm having a test drive next week and see if I can try one with that exhaust.

Good point on the 15 plate reg change over too, I'll bear that in mind.

Great car, only issue I have  is my right ankle always hurts even after a short drive. seating adjusterbility is awlful!!!
Hence my car is 7 months old with only 1000 miles on it  :thumbd:
If you are used to the BMW brand, you might find the quailityof car and service at dealers bit of an issue aswell!!
    Cute looking car though
