well, i'm only just affording the car, i'm going into my 3rd year of an electrical apprenticeship and will be saving hard until i need to pay for the car and pay for the rest with a loan from the bank, altho it will cost me more money in the long run i figured i'm spending it on something i will enjoy and not wasting it improving the performance of my punto. That and the fact i hope the car lasts me for years and years  :thumb:

well i went for a test drive, Ian at Bauer Millet was a great help, took me out in a standard abarth 500. For those of you who know the area in Manchester he took me onto the roundabout on the A5103 (Mancunian way) and went round it twice, the second time we were sideways a couple of times.

I love the driving position and the height of the gearstick. Inevitably i put my deposit down and should have it first week of November  :hysteria::hysteria::hysteria::hysteria:

Sweet! For some, the looks alone are enough to sell the car, but having a test drive obviously made your mind up (and my YouTube vids eh! :thumb:)

I'm Dan from a very small village called Hambleton about 10 miles outside of the worst place in the U.K. - Blackpool.

    Hi Dan,

My partner comes from Hambleton and it is a very small village. We go every few months so we will keep an eye out for you next time we go.

I had a similar experience with a salesman trying to get me into a RX8 Prodrive special. All it proved was that someone hadn't bolted the suspension together right as it made a horrible knocking noise... It did drift beautifully all the way around though.

What I want to know is how you managed to get enough space in traffic on that roundabout! Whenever I go though the area it is jammed solid.

took my old mans car in today as part of the scrappage scheme.
50mph from blackpool to manchester is a really boring drive haha!!!

asked ian how far off we were and originally it was meant to be in the country on the 26th and ready 3 weeks after that date, so mid november.
but its here already and should be ready in 2 weeks :D

    seriously can't wait now!

    Welcome to the forum!

I live in a village just outside of Blackburn, Lancashire's other famous sh*thole. I wonder if all places that start with 'black' are sh*t?

Anyway, great choice of motor Dan! I bet you can't wait!  :thumb:

EDIT: From what I've read I'd steer well clear of the blue&me NAV. Heard some pretty dire reviews.
Try Blackheath in the west midlands ,makes Blackburn look like Monte Carlo

i feel like i've been kicked in the knackers...
on wednesday, my dad, who is buying my current car deposited the money into my account via his lloyds tsb account on the internet to my hsbc account.

its money which will make up the total money i need to pay for the 500.
they said 3-4 days on wednesday, we weren't expecting a phonecall from ian at bauer millets this morning tell me the car is ready tomorrow!!!!!
i now have to wait till next saturday which might actually push me over the edge!!!

    aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I'm right there with you on that one - I have to wait until my temperature goes down and I can breathe again although I'm hoping it will be in time for my pickup on Wednesday.

Hang on in there - it's not long now  ;D
