I thought I'd miss my fn2 civic type r, I had a little lump in my throat when the dealers drove it away, but at a week of ownership tomorrow I can honestly say that the abarth more than makes up for it, in fact, a lot of the time it actually feels nippier than the type r used to. That may be because of the roads in jersey though.
    Loving the Abarth!

Poverty spec! In Bossa Nova White with red side stripes. As a basic car it's really well spec'd so felt no need to really go further. The dealer also had one ready to go which was duly appealing!

I had a Elise 111R before swapping for a Caterham 7 SLR and a Panda 100HP.  I loved driving the Panda in town (bouncy, but great gearbox/engine combo) as it felt so spritely, but it was a bit of hard work on A roads and above (momentum was key !).  So the 7 currently provides the lunacy and the sweetness in the handling/ride department.

I punted the Panda in for "Darth" last August and immediately loved the power increase, acceleration and the general fun, but the seats are too high and the ride too bouncy to be anything like as confidence-inspiring at speed as an Elise.  I have to say that none of this was a surprise coming from the Panda and has not dulled any enjoyment - just don't expect Elise ride, handling and acceleration.  In some respects, forward vision is better and the turbo-kick is pretty good for A road overtaking.

All in all - go for it, you won't regret it.   :thumb:

Personally I havent changed from something so fast or of that prestige to an A500. But my dad has, he used my A500 before I had it. (I got it for my birthday in october, he bought it in May.) Before that he had a BMW Z4m, which he didnt like, at all. He now has a Porsche Boxster Spyder, to this day he still asks me if he can take my A500 out. He LOVES my car, and hes probably the fussiest person I know!!

You did good - you'll love it !   :thumb:
Now that I'm a grown up I drive a sensible grey 595 Competizione with grey leather sabelt seats and yellow brake calipers. It's jolly nice! It's got a name - ' Razzogrigio' Now with a custom S/S group N style exhaust, black Esseesse wheels and a GTT induction kit, all sitting on Eibach springs.

Dude have a word with yourself lol I have a lotus Elise 111r and for the sheer driving experience you can't beat it. My everyday car is a clio200 and the wifes Abarth 500 don't come close to that let alone my lotus. BUT I doooooo like the look and sound of the Abarth. I hope you enjoy it :thumb:

I'm still a biker at heart.  I'm also lucky enough to have a pal who left me his S1 while he went travelling for a year.  You can't beat it for driving fun, but you'll be well acquainted with the disadvantages, no doubt.

The 500 has all mod cons; you can hear the radio, cart kids about, be warm/cool in winter/summer, get in and out, balance a coffee, retrieve things from under the seats - and still turn heads.  You already know how it drives - for less than £1k more you can have the Koni shocks and a piggy-back chip which will nudge it a little closer to the Elise, but it will never be quite the same.

I have more fun, more often in the 500.  But I'd like both, and the Berlingo.  The bike still reigns over the lot though.   :thumb:

You'll hardly ever regret it.  ;)

Sorry champ damage is done. If I can save myself the cost of £700 service including two rear calipers, a full coooling system including fans £1200, alternator  and associated costs of breaking down on the north circular, 4 new Toyo T1R's, etc in 18 months it''ll be well worth it.

Good luck if you've avoided these cost's, they will come.

May even keep it TBH, but i must say the pull of a 3 year warranty is strong and that I use the Liz solely as a toy makes little sense.
