Well Hello there strangers!!
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:13:10 am »
Hi.  My name is Jay (AKA TheSwede) due to my British/Swedish hertigate. Anyway enough of the history lesson. Ordered my A500 last weekend through Ben at Westoversports cars in Poole, manage to acquire one of the last Launch Editions cars so he tells me  ;D . I had been debating which new car to go for for a good while and it was not until I test drove both the A500 and GPA that I had any idea of just how good these cars really are.

I have been a (Classic) Mini fanatic for some 15 years now having owned several cars and still enjoy my custom Mini Minus which has had much time and money lavished upon it and leaves most cars for dead upto 60mph.

It was not until getting into and driving the A500 that any production car has got anywhere near putting such a large smile on my face. Despite the hour and a half drive back from Westover Sports Cars I was still grinning ear to ear when I got home. I expect to get the car around the first week in March (can't wait) and will no doubt be picking all your brains regarding upgrades and the likes. I love the idea of the Esseesse kit
and would welcome feedback from anyone who has had it fitted, also is it better to run the car in first and then have it fitted?

Hope to hear from you all and sorry for the ramble - Jay (TheSwede).

Welcome, Jay.  I thought 'The Swede' might mean you're 6ft7 and about as wide, but maybe I've just seen too many Clint Eastwood movies...  ;D

If you're not busy on Sunday, you could join us at Gaydon.  There will hopefully be a 500 esseesse there.  The kits are only just becoming available, and I don't think anything other than dealer demos have been kitted up yet.

300 miles? That should be nothing for an Abarth owner, given the distances we have to travel to our Dealers  :P

Guys it does sound like a good chance to meet a few kindred spirits and try out the A500 Esseesse at the same time ! I will see what I can do.

Thank you all for your welcome.
