Well after a long wait my Contract hire Alfa is nearly due to go back to FGA Contracts.  24 hours after returning to the UK I'd driven 3 assorted 500's for the first time and I've placed an order on an A500c SS with the Competizione gearbox.

I found the gearchange to be light years ahead of my old Stilo Abarth - some of the reviews I've seen are unfair as, being essentially a manual gearbox at heart, why shouldn't you get used lifting off slight on the upchange?!

I can't wait.  How many other A500c SS's are out there? Either members or not...

    That is a fair comment to make of the much maligned dualogic gearbox

    It's the black and white one - about as close as I'll get to my ideal spec on a used A500c. (Apart from wheel colour which is easy to change)  It's got most of the options.  I've had my eye on it for quite a few months.  Gave up on a 595 once I found out the multiair engine wasn't included!

    Originally wanted a manual but the wife thought it was a bit notchy when she sat in one in the BM showroom back in April - turns out it was ok.

    Might have it in time for Cholmondeley as long as my credit card (0% purchase thingy) and DVLA reg retention come through quickly!

    Well, well another black and white 500c, but as far as I know, you are the first 500c SS owner. I think I saw that car at BM a few months ago.

    Glad you have decided on the 500c, it is a hoot to drive and I am on my second one as documented on the forum over the last 4 months.

    I'd love another 500c - maybe with a) Multiair b) or turbodiesel c) improvements to the MITA gearbox d) mono black paint e) mohair roof.

    It was the black & white that I've always wanted - I'm surprised I've resisted for nearly 2 years.

    Defo need another meet. Have a family wedding next Sunday but it would be good to do a NW meet!
