New toys to play with today! This time a set of new fancy Sabelt seats. I can honestly say I've never spent such a fortune on something to replace something that I already have and doesn't need replacing. When I think of the month in Thailand that I could have had my heart begins to palpate. Still done now, no going back. Went to Glyn Hopkins in Romford to pick them up. The Italian guys who worked in the service center were very enthusiastic about my car and the mods I'd done and were keen to show of theirs too. It was like a car meet comparing my custom exhaust to their Monzas. Even though they were busy they let me use to garage to put the passenger seat in. (I'd never get both in the boot.) Easy job battery off, unplug, unbolt, re-bolt re-plug, battery on. Home to put the second one in and then it's p*ssing down and will do for the rest of the day.
First impressions though comparing the two seats side by side: The sabelts are beautiful. The quality is awesome. The stitching ties in with that on the handbrake, knob and binnacle surround. The white backs look like you have a storm trooper in your car and ties up with the B.N. white. They are much firmer than the standard seats. They go back a full 5cm further than the standard seat which is great for me at 6'2". They hug very very well. Your bum sticks to the alcantara like glue. They are much lighter than the standard leather seats.
Got to wait for the rain now....
