Ordered as a dealer fit option when I ordered the car.  All official parts, not aftermarket/third party.  Boot handle and whisker/moustache done as well.  All the original parts I've retained but unfortunately the whisker broke trying to remove it so I would only have to replace that if I wanted to refit them. Think it was about £350 with the scorpion as well.  The current scorpion is a laser-scan of the official part as it was damaged in transit.  Need to go back and sort out the real part later.  If the copy is good enough, I'll leave it on for now and keep the other as a spare.

Only have one pic dealer sent the day the car arrived, so it doesn't have centre caps in wheels on.  New wheels do seem to be vary more in colour different lighting than the old ones.

    Personally think the dark trim looks better on the light paints much better than chrome and the opposite for dark paints like black/record grey. It adds some contrast to the car :)

    When did you order the car?  The dealer did check if the chrome trim was an option, it was confirmed that Abarth have stopped it.

    I tend to agree with you, start liking the look of the matt black, but it just feel so "plasticie" when you touch it.

    Oh well, let me get the car first and see how I get on, come to worst, I will wrap them all up with carbon!! ha ha ha!!

    It is so helpful to see the real photos of your car as I have the exact spec for the exterior.  It is nice and has the classic theme.  Thank you for sharing!!

    They do feel rough, almost like a fine grade sand paper texture wise!

    Ha, perhaps I should keep them then, so I can convince my missus to do her nails with the door handles!!!  So she can get the shopping from the boot and open the doors herself ;D

    Avoid getting any polish near any of the dark trim and the side stripes if they are the matte ones, nightmare to get back off!!! Lesson learned lol!

    Wilko: ordered end of May.  Both dealerships confirmed it wasn't an option, which is why I ordered it as a dealer fit accessory. 1st dealer didn't even bother to get information from parts dept.

    Some of my own reasons for changing them:
      The sand paper texture.
      Seen dark on white used on a few cars (old shape Fiesta, couple of Audi's) and didn't like the contrast.  Eyes were drawn to them as they stood out too much.
      I always remember dark trim being for low spec'd models with body coloured or chrome for the higher specs.

    That being said, as I've already stated, I like them on the Cordola.  Reminds me, with the grills/vents, of a Ferrari look.  With something like Cordola, the paint is what really draws the attention.  If it was white with a bigger transfer over the door or the rear quater to draw your attention away I may have stuck with the darker trim.

    All comes down to your own personal preference.

    I like both options but if I bought your car android I'd keep the chrome trim on there. It's definitely a retro look that works for me.

    The wait is nearly over.  I was told over the weekend that the car is now at Status 50.  So it should be on its way to the dealer this week.  Pending on which day it arrives during the week, may be able to pick it up this weekend.  Funny enough my excitement has died down a bit, as it has been far too long for the wait.

    Can anyone show me a picture of the BMC air filter and the air box plate look like?  Where is it exactly?  how easy to get access to?  Is it rude to ask the dealer to show it to me to proof that they have installed it?

    It comes with it installed Wilko as far as I am aware. Very easy to get too on the 500 though, couple of screws!

    Polish as in Wax? I literally cover mine in wax, every single external part including the rough and matt bits.  :thumb:

    I would imagine though with a wax that leaves chalk it could be a nightmare, that surface is like velcro, ha ha.

    That got me thinking, do you think WD40 on the exhaust tips would help to prevent it from rusting?

    My old 500 exhaust tips did not fair well in the winter months.

    No get some metal polish, I use Meguiars NXT Metal Polish, good stuff :)

    WD40 is flammable... ha ha.
