My 500 Esseesse
« on: July 16, 2017, 01:47:38 pm »
Well it was always going to happen... I have returned! :)

I owned an Abarth 500 135 a couple of years ago and despite a few cars since then, nothing has been able to replace it so this weekend we bought another.

Its an Abarth 500 Esseesse, full main dealer & specialist service history, red leather, auto climate etc.

Modifications are a full Milltek exhaust system, polybushed throughout and adjustable camber mods. Has been set up by the previous owner for fast road and it certainly handles well!

Tyres are Yoko Parada Spec2's that I've had in the past and always rated.

It's great to be back behind the wheel of an Abarth!  8)

Anyway, here's a few pictures...

    Thanks guys  :)

Ordered a few little bits over the weekend, some wheel spacers to bring the wheels out a touch, a new esseesse rear badge as it was missing and a rear wiper delete to give the rear end a cleaner look.

Pics when they arrive / are fitted  :thumb:

Fitted my "Kill All Wipers" rear wiper delete kit. Really impressed with the quality, it comes with sealant that you spread around the large part that pushes snuggly into the hole left by the rear wiper. Looks exactly the same as the rear window surrounding it colour wise and is a perfect fit - very easy to fit and would recommend it to anyone over a bung. They're only £9.99 on ebay delivered. ;D

Also cleaned the car, went for a drive as the sun was out and found a lovely location to snap a few photos...

Thanks bud, spacers are 16mm rears and 5mm fronts with the Esseesse wheels. Wouldn't really want to go any wider on either as they match currently with the rears being a few mm wider for a better overall stance/look.

Spoke to Bluespark recently, and today ordered one of their updated tuning boxes.

Not a massive increase, but should give more torque over the older box and a small increase in hp with a better delivery from what I can make out - so looking forward to getting it fitted and tested.

Had one on my old 135 that was dyno'd at 167bhp and it transformed how it drove. I'm not expecting the difference on the Esseesse to be as much, but more torque, better lower down power and an increase of about 10-15bhp will do me.

Will pop up some pictures once it arrives and fitted etc...

Bluespark fitted, and working great!  8)

So much better throttle response and mid range power than with the standard Esseesse map.
Currently testing the different settings, C was a little too tame for my liking so now currently in E (which my old one was) and it's awesome.

Was easy to fit (have fitted one to my previous 135) and everything was included in the box, as ever, I would highly recommend a bluespark box for your Abarth if you've not got one already, and perhaps don't want to get it remapped completely as the boxes can be removed and then sold/updated to your new vehicle.

Popped out this morning for a little drive and to do some photos...
