My Turismo
« on: May 10, 2017, 12:26:25 pm »
I had a red series 3 595 140 (YY65XLG) from new for a year and loved it, then came out the series 4. My local Abarth dealer (Jordans) rang me asking if I wanted to upgrade, and of coarse I grabbed the salesmans hand off.
I opted for the Turismo (YX17VRN) as personally I didn't find the seats comfy or any need for the Brembos (I couldn't afford the Competitione).
As soon as I drove out of the dealers I hated the steering and suspension, it was all over the place. I put it down to new tyres and proceeded to scrub them in. After a week no change and very nearly took it back. It had Koni fsd all round with eibach springs, (I bought eibachs for my series 3 to lower it and hated them) so off came the mish mash suspension and on went the Bilsteins and my 18" wheels from the series 3 I had taken off to trade in. What a difference, it was like having  XLG back, only in new clothing. XLG had a TMC tuning box on it, so I went down the remap road with VRN, 170bhp and 300nm of torque later VRN is very much loved.
Other mods include the lime green stripes and bumper inserts, Ramair induction and I covered the backs of the rear seats. I'm waiting for TMC to dispatch a Novitec rear pipe and that will do for a while.
Here are some pics, please leave comments good or bad as I'm interested in your thoughts. ;D

That looks great love the green!

What Ram Air Intake is it you have then? Or is that the name of a product?

That really works, ha ha. love it.

You can create your own little garage space here if you like and I'll post it to facebook if you like? With your permission of course :)

I covered the backs of the rear seats

Is this to tidy the boot space?
