OPC's GPA
« on: November 03, 2008, 10:56:24 pm »
I picked it up today, or rather I didn't. It's too long a story to bore you all about on here, but I had to drive back to work in Westover's red GPA with the nice yellow stripes, (looks like they will be coming off after all the negitive comments).

Anyway, my car ended up getting dropped off at work about 4pm today and we did the swap. My car is velocity red, with leather, skydome and climate control. Only done the 20 mile drive home and a few drives around town so far and I'm pretty happy with it. I need to take it for a good drive tomorrow morning, maybe a long way round to work from Blandford to zig zag hill, Cranborne, then onto Ringwood - That should be good enough to get to see what I think of it on some good old country roads.

Anyway, I'm very happy with the spec and the colour / wheel combination really reminds me of the Mk1 Strada 105TC in red. A car I always wanted, nearly bought on two occasions, but always had too many 131's / Strada Abarths sat on my Dad's carpark, (used to have a pub) to justify getting another car. (Still got some Strada bits if anyone has one)??

I'll also take some pictures tomorrow morning if I get the chance - before it gets too dirty ;D.

Well, the car was fine and Ben was just going through the controls with me when he realised that the blue&me software wasn't working properly with mine, or anyone else's phone. Chris, the Manager then showed me how it was set up on the white car in their showroom, which worked. This was a S1 car that I think might have different blue&me software to mine, which is an S2 with the new key. They weren't sure what the problem was, so got their technician to look at it and sent me on my way in their demo.

I wasn't really bothered about it, but they wanted the car to be 100% before I drove it away. Anyway, Ben then dropped the car back at my work after the blue&me software had been rebooted and it then worked with my phone. Only problem then was that the language was Italian. So they are now probably going to have it back on Wednesday to sort. I did start reading something in the book that mentioned something about languages, so maybe I'll have a play myself tomorrow at work.

One funny thing about my car is as it's from Westover, they have gone and put Ferrari number plates on it. Maybe I should add a Ferrari badge to the grille as well, as I don't think that the car has enough badges on it ;D.

If it's just the Blue&Me that's in the wrong lingo, you can download other languages here, although you might prefer to get Westover to do it.

I've got the Ferrari plates, too.  I kinda like 'em.  ;D

Yeah, I think that I'll just leave it to them, as they have offered to fix it and I'm very busy at work at the moment and have very little patience with computers, gadgets, etc.

it sounds like youve had a brand new convergence node fitted already!

ive had the same problem on a couple of grande puntos, if you just reset them it shudnt change the language, they normally only go back to italian when its a new unit.

its not a complicated job to do the language update, may save you a trip!

They said that they will pick up the car tommorrow from my work, so I let them sort it.

Okay, so I've been trying to post some photos and I can't get it to work. I've been adding them to the "attach" bit in the "additional options" and I can't seem to get them to post. Help :-[

Hey OPC. Are you finding the file in browse? is it not adding in to the box next to attach?

Maybe try to add to resize one of the photo's first to a smaller one and see if that helps.

Yeah, I've added them into the box and they are about 400KB each. I noticed the maximum size, so posting a couple at a time should be okay.

I managed to get it to work on there. Maybe I'll just try again when I get some decent photos at the weekend. Supposed to be nice down our way on Saturday.
