The Dutch ONE
« on: December 29, 2008, 06:31:09 pm »
Hello, I am waiting for a white Abarth GPwhit stripes and the optie 17" wheels. I am now driving a Fiat GP T-jet and a Fiat barchetta.

I wish it was februari 2009

I live in the Netherlands, above Amsterdam.

Oooooooooooooo! Nice Barchetta. Always loved the little Barchetta and great shame it was never brought to te UK, although probably wise as I don't know how many it would have sold.

Barchetta was sold in the U.K. but still in LHD form. I think we stopped selling them late 2005.

    Here's mine.

This pic was taken during a visit to the old gp circuit at Reims.

I didn't usually have the rack on the back, we were returning from a 2900 mile camping trip round France.

We were stopped by immigration entering the UK. Apparently they'd found a Chinese illegal hidden in the boot of a Barchetta a couple of weeks previously. The year before we were stopped on the way out of the UK and searched by customs, despite the fact that the boot was chocker as was the rack.

One of the few times that the car actually worked for more than a month at a time.

Lovely car when it was going, which unfortunately was not very often.

Barchetta is a nice little car. I used to own one also. It was a '99 Limited Edition in black with red roof/leather interior. Here's one photo of mine:

It would have sold considerably more had it been available in RHD.

You only need to look at how many Mazda MX=5s are on the road to know how much us Brits love small roadsters.
