2009 Dates for your Diary
« on: December 04, 2008, 02:06:29 pm »
Abarth Forum will be organising a series of events through 2009, some standalone, and some in conjunction with established events.  In the meantime, however, here are a few dates worthy of inclusion in your diary.

22 February 2009 - AbarthForum Mini-meet, Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon
A relaxed Sunday get-together at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire.  We've organised reserved parking for the group, plus discounted admission to the museum.  We'll have a range of Abarth merchandise (T-shirts, models, etc) available to buy on the day, with proceeds going to help cover the forum's costs.  Dealer representatives will join us in a GPA Esseesse and at least one new 500 Abarth.  There's a chance a classic Abarth 033 will join us, and perhaps even a special mystery guest (more on that later).

The Goodwood Breakfast Club will be held on the first Sunday of the month, from March until November (excluding September and October) at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex. The event will once again host a series of meetings with the promise of an eclectic mix of vehicles and a great organic breakfast menu to get the appetite of any motoring enthusiast going.

The Festival of Speed is far more than just a hillclimb – it is a celebration of the history of motor sport and can justifiably claim to be the world’s biggest and most diverse classic motor sports event. Taking place outside Goodwood House, using the main road through the Park as the track, it’s the only occasion where you’ll see in action the greatest competition cars and star drivers from the entire history of motor sport.

Will be at Stanford definately no matter what car I'm driving then, Gaydon possibly. I really want to go and see the trophy cup at Brands hatch.

I'd definitely recommend Auto Italia at Brooklands, have attended a fair few times and is a really good event.

A real mix of Italian cars in a good setting, plus also its free to visit Mercedes Benz World which is impressive even if your not a fan of Mercs.

Both Stanford and Gaydon are well worth attending. There are usually a few proper Abarths there.

Stanford for Maseratis, Alfas and a smattering of Ferraris.

Gaydon for Lamborghinis, Lancias and a smattering of Ferraris.

There was quite a good Italian day at Stone, Staffs last year. Hopefully that will be repeated. Quite a few Ferraris and Ducatis at that one. Plus a very good Italian food market.

The Italian day at Calke Abbey was a disappointment.
