Abarth S4 - upgrade to Apple Car Play

Hey All
Thanks for the invite to the team. Great to see that almost everyone waves when i drive by. Proper community spirit.
OK, quick question - my 2016 595 Comp wasn't specc'd with Carplay, but has a 7 inch touch screen. ... has anyone  done the upgrade to carplay from a non-car play unit?
I've spoken to my abarth dealer and they say that "it may" need a different wiring loom.

has anyone on here made this change, and any help would be great ?

    I posted so many times about that, and nobody knows the answer, i wish someone could crack that feature.

    Don't know if this helps, but I fitted an aftermarket head unit to a different car and there was an option of Apple Play. This came in a form of a separate plug in module. Maybe that is the direction you need to be looking. The head unit was a Dynavin.

    Yes you can do a proxy alignment & activate carplay.
    But it depends on the uconnect unit.
    Tends not to work on pre 2016 w/out car play unit.

    I've just picked up my 2018 595 comp with 7" screen but no carplay.

    Is there anyone near London who could try a Proxy Alignment

    I have taken my unit out and the model looks like any of the ones on eBay that say carplay, so I am hoping i can sort it with a proxy alignment.
